O-7, r. 0.1 - Regulation respecting professional activities that may be engaged in by persons other than optometrists

3. A student of optometry and a candidate for the practice of the profession may, as part of a program of studies that they are completing, engage in the activities contemplated by sections 16, 19.1 and 19.1.1 of the Optometry Act (chapter O-7) except for the prescription of ophthalmic lenses and medications and the sale of ophthalmic lenses.
When engaging in one of these activities, this person must work under the supervision of an optometrist with one of the permits contemplated in section 19.2 of the Act or a physician with a specialist’s certificate in ophthalmology who has the responsibility and is available for a procedure locally within a short period of time.
